Terms of sale

These terms apply to any order placed on almadacomporta.com by a consumer. By completing checkout you accept them. They should be read with our Privacy policy.

1. Seller

Orders are sold by Alma da Comporta, Comporta, Portugal — p.rei@almadacomporta.com. The legal entity name, NIPC and registered office appear on your invoice.

2. Products

We sell artisanal fragrances, scented candles and diffusers. Descriptions, notes and photographs are provided in good faith. Natural ingredients may cause slight variations from one batch to another. Products are intended for adult use. Keep candles and fragrances away from children and follow the safety instructions on the packaging.

Availability is indicated at the time of order. If an item cannot be fulfilled after payment, we will contact you and refund the amount concerned.

3. Prices

Prices are in euros (€) and include VAT. The amount charged is the price displayed at checkout. Stripe Tax calculates the applicable VAT according to your delivery address. We do not currently charge a separate shipping fee at checkout; any change will be shown before payment.

4. Order and payment

You add items to your cart, then confirm the order on Stripe Checkout. Payment is processed securely by Stripe (cards and the methods Stripe enables for your country). The contract is formed when payment is accepted. You then receive a confirmation from Stripe and are redirected to our confirmation page.

We reserve the right to refuse an order in case of an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, or if a product is unavailable.

5. Delivery

We ship to the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Norway. Delivery is made to the address you provide at checkout.

Orders are usually prepared within 2 to 5 business days and delivered within 3 to 10 business days after dispatch, depending on the destination. These times are indicative. A delay does not entitle you to damages, without prejudice to your statutory rights.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Please check the parcel on arrival and report any damage to the carrier and to us without delay.

6. Right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU) and Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014, you have 14 days from receipt of the goods to withdraw, without giving a reason.

To withdraw, write to p.rei@almadacomporta.com with your order number before the deadline. You then have 14 days to return the goods, at your expense, in their original condition.

Hygiene exception. The right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed — in particular opened or unsealed fragrances, candles and diffusers. Unopened items in original, intact packaging may be returned.

We refund the price of the returned goods, using the same means of payment, within 14 days of receiving the return or proof of shipment — whichever comes first. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods.

7. Legal guarantee

You benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (2 years from delivery for consumers in the EU) and from the guarantee against hidden defects under Portuguese law. Contact us with a description and photographs if a product is defective or does not match the order.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Otherwise our liability is limited to the amount of the order concerned.

9. Personal data

Order data is processed as described in our Privacy policy, including by Stripe for payment.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. As a consumer you also keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live. The European Commission’s online dispute-resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You may also contact us first — we will do our best to find a solution.
